Growing up in the regional area of Gippsland in Victoria, Liz discovered her passion for singing at the tender age of 7. By 16, she had already begun gigging in both public and corporate settings. Initially, Liz studied classical voice styles but later made the change to contemporary and jazz. In pursuit of her musical aspirations, Liz relocated to Melbourne for higher education in music.
Liz studied a Bachelor of Music Performance (jazz) at Monash University straight after VCE. Her time at Monash further developed her love for jazz and contemporary singing and allowed her the opportunity to meet and work with some of Melbourne's finest musicians and educators. During this time, Liz honed her skills as a songwriter and performer, regularly lending her vocals to a dynamic repertoire of bands in corporate settings. Her main Corporate party band, Connotations, also formed during this time and have gone on to work extensively in the corporate event scene.
During her years at Monash, Liz began teaching private voice students. This lead her to delve further into the art of teaching by completing a Graduate Diploma of Education in 2011. As a fully qualified teacher, Liz has been able to dedicate time to nurturing and inspiring the next generation of musicians and singers, something she is very passionate about.
Liz currently teaches voice and has extensive experience in individual tuition as well as ensemble and choral work. She is performing regularly as a lead singer for weddings and corporate work and is now a regular performer with multiple projects at The Paris Cat Jazz Club in Melbourne's CBD.
